Lahndan institution Faith bring us a CD of what they quite rightly describe as proper house music. Focussing on techy groovers and dark vocal stormers, this compilation shows that Farley, Patterson and all still know a storming record when they hear one. Faith move seamlessly between European and American clubfloor grooves, giving listeners good reason to check out their heralded parties when in London and reminding them that House Aint Dead. Winners include Radio Slave’s gutsy reshaping of Jerome Sydenham and Tiger Stripes’ Elevation, the jumpy Part 2 of Karizma’s Tech This Out and Pepe Bradock’s weirdly keyed Incredible Feathered Creatures. This compilation will remind you of the joys of house music.
