Shameboy – Heartcore (541)

Shameboy Heartcore (541)

Shameboy is the work of two Belgian studio heads, Jimmy Dewit and Luuk Cox, who make jet propelled cuts with simple melodies and arrangements. Unapologetically rough and ready, Heartcore is an album of raw electronic grit from a duo that let their computers and synthesizers do the talking. Shameboy tread similar ground on many of their tracks, but they do it with enough style to hold the attention for most of the time. Cuts to write home about include the dark After All The Damage, fuzzy Our Peggy Ate Her and dirty bass dominated Monofour. Weirdly appealing electroid fuzz from a duo that haven’t got much to be ashamed of.
