Kraak & Smaak – Plastic People (Jalapeno)

Kraak & Smaak Plastic People (Jalapeno)

Tired of making funky breaks type records, Kraak & Smaak have embraced broader musical soundscapes and this new album is sounding infinitely more musical, due to their newfound open-mindedness. Still predominantly making party music, the Dutch duo have worked out how to make catchy grooves that can withstand repeat plays in a way that puts their older, gimmicky material to shame. There are still a few duff notes on Plastic People, but they are few and far between and the album is characterised by a wealth of euphoric tracks that span a range of genres. Highlights appear in the form of tracks such as the infectious Squeeze Me, levitating California Roll and stoned hop of relaxed effort Thinking Back. Plastic People is a triumphant second album from K&S that shows they have matured by light years since their debut.
