Joey Negro aka Dave Lee returns with his live band project, which has been responsible for some of the most wonderful modern day spirit raising disco and house vocal stomers. The cast of guest vocalists is formidable and the production on this LP is spot on, but whilst every song and interlude won’t stick in the memory, the finest moments will. It is a tall order to compete with previous offerings like the Electric Chair anthem Far Beyond and powerful Just Do It, but Moving With The Shakers features some material of the same calibre. For example, Rough Times is an excellent party piece that advises the listener how to fight during turbulent periods, whilst the sax blessed Journey To The Sun is classic Sunburst material and We Can Live Forever is a string and brass driven midtempo gem. The sun always shines for this band, who make retro-tinged music that sparkles and is still relevant in an electronic age.
